I had a great time at MoCCA! It was probably one of my favorite shows I’ve been to over the past few years. Lots of folks had some valid complaints about the venue, organization, and pricing (especially the pricing) but really, overall, it was such a good time, in a really neat space, full of amazing people, and packed with great comics. David Mazzucchelli was there and signed my copy of his beautiful new book, Asterios Polyp. I got to hear Gary Panter and Frank Santoro chat about art and comics. I got to see bunches of friends and pick up some neat looking minis and sell and trade some books. I hope everyone who picked up Fire Messenger 1 enjoys it! Look out for chapter 2 at SPX.
Here’s some photographic evidence of the existence of this whole “MoCCA” thing:

The I Know Joe Kimpel table! (With Colleen Frakes setting up and Caitlin Plovnick to the left.)

My wares (between those of Bob Oxman to the left and Mario van Buren to the right).

The floor, before the crowds descended.

Someone with good taste perusing The Fire Messenger.

In other news, I’ve got a comic running in this week’s issue of Seven Days, so if you’re in Vermont, go ahead and pick one up! Or you could just read it on the world wide walrus wranglin’ web: http://www.7dvt.com/center-for-cartoon-studies
